Laverne Denise Williams was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Fred
and Betty Williams on March 5, 1963. She was the second oldest of
She received her education in the St. Louis Public School System.
Laverne confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mount Nebo
Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend
Laverne spent her time as a caretaker for her Grandfather, Father,
and later her Mother who all preceded her in death. She loved
cleaning, sewing, and decorating her home while listening to
gospel music. Laverne was very passionate about her music and
entertaining; every time you seen her, she would have a new
speaker system and was always excited to show how loud the
volume could be. She was known for her unique fashions and her
stylish heels. She would often express how excited she was about
becoming a Grandmother for the first time to her beautiful
Granddaughter, Sylvia Denise Hill. She was a loving and devoted
mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who loved her family abundantly.
Laverne departed from this life and joined her Mother, Father, and
Grandfather on Friday December 24, 2021 to receive an early gift
of New Life, that can only be given by God.
Laverne leaves to cherish her loving memories, two children,
Ebonee Harris and Sylvester Hill III (Tray) of St. Louis, Mo.; brother,
Jerome Ornell Bartee (Irma) of Houston, TX.; sister, Joyce Williams
of St. Louis, Mo; niece, Shenika Bartee Echols (Dennis); two
nephews, Jerome Jr. and Simeon Bartee; five great nieces,
including a special niece, Maddie, who she referred to as TT girl;
four great nephews, a host of uncles, aunts, a special cousin,
Carlette Williams, and her Grand-Dog, Bentley.
